Over the last year, neuroscience and neuromarketing research has unveiled the incredible influence touch has on comprehension and the way we connect with the brands we come in contact with. And one things for certain, the United States Postal Service has been listening.
To add to the success of their 2015 Emerging and Advanced Technologies promotion, the USPS has developed a new promotion to recognize the influence physical components have on sensory engagement. Starting March 1st until August 31st of 2016, direct mailers in the United States have the opportunity to earn an upfront 2% postage discount for mailings leveraging the physical aspects of the mail piece.
What does that include?
Well, Scodix of course! By engaging a multi-sensory experience through special visual effects, as well as texture/tactile treatments – mailers can ensure recipients will be interacting and engaging with their mail. Whether applying a texture at variable gloss densities to create dimension and wonder, or even contrasting a soft touch base with a spot high-gloss effect – the Scodix technology will enable mailers in the United States to take advantage of this promotion at the smallest mailing size.
In fact, with a minimum requirement of 200 pieces, Scodix is the perfect candidate to pair with variable data printing that ensures the messaging presented is relevant to each recipient.
But that’s not all – there are a few more ways to earn this 2% discount, including:
- Really tapping into the consumer’s senses by pairing the Scodix dimension with sound, scent and even taste!
- Integrate additional mail piece features – such as pop-ups and infinite folds – to keep your audience engaged.
What’s eligible?

What’s not?
