Wanted: Digital Print Enhancement that is Easy to Obtain

Digital printing has continued to evolve over the past several years. In fact, many of the advancements have led to opening the doors for printers to expand their markets and grow their business. And this growth in most cases is in ways that would not have been feasible in the past. This is relevant and timely since the digital print enhancement printing marketplace is one that represents significant economic growth and volume. Something you can read more about in our Are You Missing Out on the Digital Print Enhancement Advantage blog.

This is why Scodix wants you. Recently, our own Amit Shvartz, Chief Marketing Office (CMO), was interviewed by the Intergalactic Ambassador to the Printerverse, Deborah Corn. During the interview for Print Media Centr’s Podcasts from the Printerverse, Amit talks about a number of important initiatives from Scodix and why it is all in pursuit of getting more customers in the digital print enhancement or print embellishment game (listen to the full podcast here) or click the player below.

Amit shares how Scodix started from an idea…a thought that print could be made taken from just CMYK ink to something more, something you could really feel and experience. Make that printed page more special. However, the challenge has been making this significant opportunity available to more customers. A challenge our Scodix team has taken head-on through the introduction of new products.

In the podcast, Amit talks about the previous generation, fully functioned and capable, Scodix Ultra2 Digital Enhancement Press and how while it could do everything it made it difficult for some customers to enter this market of embellished print.

“We needed to listen to the market and understand what is needed out there,” Amit explains. “And then try to tailor the solution in a way that would be suitable for the majority of customers out there.”

The result was the recent introduction of our Scodix Ultra 101 and Scodix Ultra 202. These two new printing press offerings were designed to make it possible for more printers to get in the game. And, if you are a printer that doesn’t have digital print enhancement capabilities, there are very good reasons to look at this market. Enhanced print through digital foil, Cast & Cure, crystal (up to 1mm of polymer on the page) and more applications, makes it possible to drive purchase behavior by catching the eye and engaging the sense of touch. Touch or being able to feel something is a proven driver of engagement and has been shown in some research to make products up to six times more desirable.

For those looking to get into the game, as Amit says, the Scodix Ultra 101 is really your first stop. Our Scodix team has positioned the 101 as an affordable printing press that will allow you to digitally enhancement offset print or work in conjunction with an HP Indigo press. By using one material, a printer is able to add embellishments to their print projects including Cast & Cure. The possibilities are impressive and something we believe you should experience by requesting samples or viewing our Before and After gallery.

Don’t have an offset or HP Indigo printing press? That is where our Scodix Ultra 202 comes into play. With the Ultra 202, printers with a variety of machines and ink or toner types are able to add digital enhancement capabilities to their print production floor. With four different types of polymer materials, the 202 has been tested with a wide variety of machines and substrates to make sure you can answer your markets demands for stand out print. This also includes uncoated stock, something that opens the door to different cost models and visual experiences for your customers.

The market spoke and Scodix has listened. Now we want you. Start your journey to new opportunities with the help of our team and technology.
