JohnsByrne Boosts Productivity and Sustainability with Acquisition of Scodix Digital Enhancement Press

Scodix, Israel, March 13 2024 – Scodix, the leading provider of digital embellishment solutions, announces that JohnsByrne has purchased a Scodix Ultra 6000, powered by SHD Digital Enhancement Press. A leading premium and comprehensive single source provider to major brands within sectors such as Beauty & Wellness, Spirits, Financial Services, Consumer Products and many more, the JohnsByrne investment underpins the need to provide brands with the sophisticated and sustainable embellishment capabilities that Scodix Smart High Definition provides.

Based in Chicago, JohnsByrne is set to leverage the Scodix press to enhance its offerings to leading brands within its customer portfolio, taking advantage of Scodix’s reputation for intricate detailing, productivity and efficiency.

Corey Gustafson, President, JohnsByrne, says: “Our investment in the Scodix press supports our commitment to ongoing and purposeful CAPEX investment to provide our customers with the latest technology for delivering elevated brand premiumization. The Scodix is an excellent complement to our existing state-of-the-art pressroom and finishing solutions to round out our high-end embellishment capabilities, all while supporting our continued responsibility to the environment.

“Alongside sustainability, it is vital as a supplier to leading brands for us to select a press that will optimize our efficiency and answer the growing need for shorter time to market; Scodix provides this solution.”

The efficiency of the Scodix SHD has yet to be matched by competitors. Providing a range of embellishment options, JohnsByrne now has access to embossing, foil effects, additional special coatings, all on one single machine. Customers will now notice a greater range in JohnsByrne’s offerings, with options for in-line, high-definition foiling, embellishments without the need for traditional set ups and dies, or the choice between flat or embossed spot UV effects, among others. There is now significant opportunity for the company to make savings in energy consumption, floor space and expenses on additional machines.

Mark Nixon, EVP Global Sales and Marketing says: “Being chosen by a premium company like JohnsByrne is a testament to the versatility of Scodix to produce a wide range of product decoration effects, whilst achieving productivity and sustainability goals.

“The team was impressed by our LCA results giving them a basis to encourage brands to incorporate more embellishment options to attract customers. The sheer volume of our global customer base and the solid, provable results of their enhanced print processes using Scodix solutions adds further weight to our belief that we can add significant value, in a sustainable way, to forward-thinking print providers like JohnsByrne.”
