SCODIX SECURES FIRST EVER DEAL IN RUSSIA WITH ORDER FROM CHERRYPIE

Innovation and creativity are the inspiration for one of Moscow’s most advanced creative print shops

Scodix, Drupa, June 08, 2012 –

Scodix announced today its first ever order in Russia with the drupa hand- shake of a B2 Scodix S74 Digital Press for creative agency Cherrypie, based in Moscow. Representing the best of Russia’s entrepreneurial breed of designers, Cherrypie is at the forefront of innovative and advanced designs for some of the leading creative agencies and companies in the country.
The Scodix S74 Digital Press joins a line-up of digital equipment including a Xerox iGen4 and HP Indigo at Cherrypie, providing a cutting edge digital service. The company handles a range of work but specialises in one-off pieces such as personalized albums or hard-backed books that have a unique appeal.
Cherrypie New Business Director Evgeny Timoshchenko (pictured) said: “We wanted to buy the Scodix press as it provides unique functionalities and features no other press can provide. At Cherrypie we like challenging jobs that add creativity and value to products. Whilst we do standard print jobs, we prefer coming up with solutions to outstanding jobs that will really capture people’s imaginations.
“The Scodix Press has the ability to provide gloss and matt varnish in precise register to make print work really stand out. The press has already provided a useful service producing customer samples on demand, but is also being used for high-value production runs where it can really add a new dimension to print production.”
The Scodix S74 has been installed at the company for just over a month and has been used to produce numerous customer samples and proofs. With customer awareness growing it is now also producing around four production jobs a day, ranging from tens of copies to several hundred.
The Scodix S74 provides the tangible Scodix SENSE™ experience using advanced jetting blocks and multiple independently controlled inkjet nozzles to deliver Scodix’s proprietary PolySENSETM clear polymer in small drops and multiple layers. The Scodix patent-pending Optical Print Alignment (OPA) camera system executes enhancements with pinpoint accuracy, scanning each and every sheet to ensure delivery of the Scodix PolySENSE™ clear polymer to its exact location.
The Scodix S Digital Press has the power to stir the senses with its creations and to produce an eye-catching, memorable experience. Using unique digital enhancement capabilities, it can produce 99 Gloss Units (GU) – the highest gloss available for printed materials – up to 250 microns in polymer height (over 20 times higher than selective varnish) and variable density capabilities, ranging from 1% to 100%.

Kobi Bar, CEO and Founder of Scodix said: “We are delighted that Cherrypie has invested in our Scodix S74 and is our first installation in Russia. In many ways they are the perfect company for our product. They are adventurous, creative and enjoy pushing the boundaries of print production and we are perfect to help them to do that.”
