Scodix announced a partnership with distributor Samafitro to sell its range of digital enhancement presses to the south-east Asia market, marking the next stage of Scodix’s expansion into international markets.

Scodix says that, with more than 30 years’ experience, and more than 600 employees across a number of regional offices, Samafitro brings a wealth of graphic arts experience, holding the distribution rights for Canon, HP, Zund and a number of other leading graphic arts companies. It adds that the south-east Asia market is a significant area of potential, covering Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia, covering thousands of printing companies.
Sealing the deal at drupa, Agung Widodo, marketing manager for the Graphic Arts Imaging and Printing Solutions divisions at Samafitro, says: “We are delighted to add Scodix to our portfolio of graphic arts companies that we serve throughout the region. We only deal with high quality products that serve specific customer needs.”
Samafrito has secured its first sale of Scodix equipment in the region to Subur Print, one of Jakarta’s largest printing companies. Running a hybrid mix of lithographic and digital presses, including HP Indigo and Canon C7000 machines. Subur Print specialises in high-end commercial work, including photo books and cross-media applications for sectors including banking, advertising, mining, education and insurance The Scodix S74 B2+ (29in) press has been added to provide value-added services to a range of solutions, providing a unique digital enhancement solution.
Widodo adds, “Scodix’s range of digital enhancement presses is unique to this sector. Our first sale, to Subur Print in Jakarta is the first installation in the south-east Asia region. We are sure that with Scodix’s unique printing capabilities, there will be many more.”
Scodix says its S Digital Press can produce 99 Gloss Units (GU) – the highest gloss available for printed materials – up to 250 microns in polymer height and variable density capabilities. As a stand-alone solution compatible with offset, laminated sheets and digital print feeds, the Scodix S-series press can automatically process substrates from 135 to 675gsm and thickness up to 700 microns. As a modular design, customers can also add the latest Braille print option and Rainbow Glitter capabilities.
