WorldPressOnline First Call – Many exhibitors participated in the PACK & GREEN contest this year which rewards the most innovative project in terms of reducing environmental impact. A jury composed of packaging industry experts met to review the entries and choose the winner.

The Pack & Green 2013 prize was awarded to DLW for its SCODIX printer.

This is the first time a technology has won the Pack & Green contest demonstrating the variety of sustainable development solutions put forward by manufacturers.

DLW uses the clean and environmentally-friendly SCODIX press process. Scodix’s PolySENSE is used. It does not contain any hazardous additives or dangerous gases and is also non-toxic and recyclable, unlike spot UV varnish.  PolySENSE does not contain any VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and has the highest level of gloss possible today (99% Gloss Units).

As this process is digital, the films, photos, screens, chemicals, and solvents currently required are eliminated.

DLW customers can therefore embellish one or several thousand prints without harming the environment.
