Photopark to enhance print with Scodix

Established in June 2012, Kochi-based Photopark, a digital printing company, was looking for an equipment to enhance the sheets printed on HP Indigo. This, finally, led them to commission a Scodix digital print-enhance equipment.

“The time for normal print production is over. Being a printer, we have to create business, and print enhancement is the best way to develop business,” said Louis Francis, managing director, Photopark, a multi-location print production company.

“We examined Scodix samples and discussed with our existing customers, and realised that this is the right machine for us requirement. And, we purchased it,” he added.

Francis has a rich experience of around three decades in colour lab. “We wanted to upgrade the level of print enhancement, especially in Kerala. With Scodix, we have found immense opportunities to enhance printed sheets,” he added.

Rohit Louis of Photopark, the second generation of a family-owned business and a MBA degree holder from a Canadian University, added, “Our present focus is photo printing. After the purchase of Scodix, we see potential for commercial market as well. We will expand our business both in photo printing and commercial printing segments,” he said.

A HP Indigo user, the company expects around 20% growth in print production after adding Scodix. “It can enhance the print up to 600 micron and it can be done in the print size of 20×29 inch. The print result on Scodix will be useful for offset printers as well,” said Louis. “We are focusing on the premium segment. We are also looking at jobs like visiting cards, brochures, wedding cards, invitations, greeting cards, photos, brand labeling and personalised packaging.”

Excited Francis said, “Being the first to adopt the technology in the region, we are now in a wait and watch situation. After adding the equipment, we expect double digit growth in our total business.”
